To apply, use a Scotts® spreader, with settings of 4 for Scotts® broadcast/rotary spreaders, 9 ½ for Scotts® drop spreaders, and 4 ¼ for Scotts® Wizz®. After application, water the lawn to activate the product. One 9.42 lb. bag of Scotts® Turf Builder® Summer Lawn Food can cover an area of 4,000 sq. ft.

The greening effects of this fertilizer can last up to 6 weeks, although results may vary depending on temperature and turf type.
